This episode was a big favorite of mine due to the appearance of Mark Lenard of Star Trek fame.  I think he is a classic example of an actor that was outstanding but never got the recognition he deserved outside of the science fiction world.  I think it is often true, in general, that perhaps some of the best actors are not  typically the most popular or most famous.

This was also my favorite too. I liked the peek we got into the military world of Thel as well as Mark Lenard's role in the teleplay.

Mark Lenard did a movie in the late 60s called "Outrage", where he plays a neighbour who doesn't give a hoot what his delinquent 20-ish son does to annoy or terrorize a family that recently moved in.  It was a pleasing chance for him to do non sci-fi work and he did it quite well.

Back to sci-fi, though, in 1981, Lenard played an alien ambassador in "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century", from a race where the head, if not other body parts, can be disconnected and continue to live at least for a time.
